Although dedicated hosting is a primary goal, how to differentiate between cheap web hosting and dedicated servers? It is not exactly a bad web design one could reject or absurd domain names one could refuse to.

Google Don’ts - Dirty Tricks and Bad Tips That Will Get Your Site Banned

Link to Bad Neighborhoods
Google calls spamming sites bad neighborhoods, and linking to them is a great way to lower your PageRank. Linking ordinarily would make you a good neighbor and a good citizen of the Internet. However, just because someone links to you does not obligate you to link back to them. Check out the Web site first, and make sure it is not a bad neighborhood. How do you know it’s a bad neighborhood? Check their PageRank and scan the Web site for any of the violations you see here.

I wonder, if participating in services like ReceiveLinks can really hurt your site?

Blogger Tip: Your Blogger Blog Won’t Be Indexed If It Is Not Listed

No Comments

If you have Blogger blog you might want to check if it is actually being indexed. If you specify in blog settings that it shouldn’t be listed on your Blogger profile, the following code is added to your meta tags:

<meta name=”ROBOTS” content=”NOINDEX,NOFOLLOW” />

I just removed the following line to get rid of it:

<b:include data=’blog’ name=’all-head-content’/>

But I don’t advice anyone do the same, cause it removed all header information - including RSS links and so on.

Advertising Tip: Give Your Forum a Good Start

No Comments

If you ever started a forum, you know how hard it is to get posts in the very beginning. Paid Posting Central can bring you some help at this moment.

How does it work?
Once you purchase one of our packages, writers are chosen and they sit down and prepare the necessary research to maximize your forum’s appearance. For example, if your forum was about history, writers would be picked based on their interests and then they would be sent to your forum. They would do research on the different topics available and then start to make posts based on it in the hopes of getting your current members interested to post. Then you get to watch as your forum begins to increase in activity.

Wordpress Tip: Be Careful About Your Privacy When Selecting Theme

No Comments

As Wordpress is becoming more and more popular, many new themes are being released. Some of them are very basic, some full of features. But besides of design and functionality, there is one more thing you might want to check. Namely your privacy.

I’ve just came across a theme, where one of images in design was loading not from my server, but from theirs. So, they could track my users just like common web stats counter. I don’t know if it’s in compliance with their license (since there is no license included into package). But - come on - would you really care about it if someone has all the information about your traffic, about your visitors, about your referring sources?
